Yas Waterworld Expansion Opening Date Announced by Miral
Miral, the mastermind behind immersive destinations in Abu Dhabi, has announced that the Yas Waterworld expansion will officially open its doors on 1 July.
Covering an impressive area of 13,445 square metres, the Yas Waterworld expansion will feature 20 new rides, slides, and experiences, along with a fresh dining option.
Once the project is unveiled, Yas Waterworld will boast over 60 rides, slides, and attractions, making it a must-visit destination.
Among the signature attractions set to debut at the park are Al Falaj Race, the first side-by-side duelling tube raft racer slide in the region, and Al Sahel Junior, which introduces the first mini zero-gravity junior boomerango.
Other highlights include Bahamut’s Rage, a thrilling log flume ride; Al Mafras, a twisting desert slide designed for children; and Red Dunes, a closed tube slide. Additionally, Dawwama Junior offers a smaller version of the park’s iconic tornado slide, while Bandit’s Playground serves as an engaging splash zone, and Mataha Madness presents a maze filled with twists and turns.
New Experiences on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi
Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, group CEO of Miral, stated: “These new rides not only transform water-based entertainment in the region but also reflect our ongoing commitment to creating innovative destinations that captivate visitors of all ages.”
He added, “As we continue to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s tourism growth and economic diversification, we’re proud to offer yet another reason for families and thrill-seekers to explore everything Yas Island has to offer, further positioning it as a top global destination for entertainment and leisure.”
As part of the Yas Waterworld expansion, a new theme called the Lost City will be introduced, featuring a world of hidden treasures and secret passages.
This new theme enhances the water park’s original narrative, which draws inspiration from the UAE’s rich pearl-diving heritage.
Located on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, Yas Waterworld is situated alongside other world-class theme parks such as SeaWorld Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, and Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
These attractions will soon be complemented by the recently announced Disneyland Abu Dhabi, a collaboration between Miral and Disney.
