World’s Tallest Water Coaster ‘Surreal’ Opens at Beach Park, Brazil
With heart-pounding mega drops, breathtaking uphill blasts, high-banking turns, and brilliant AquaLucent effects, Beach Park is inviting guests on a surreal experience with the world’s tallest water coaster starting this weekend.
Named “Surreal,” this WhiteWater Master Blaster launches from a height of 28 meters, where riders in 2-person inner tubes first take in a spectacular view of Porto das Dunas Beach before screaming down a 7-meter plunge. In the blink of an eye, they are then blasted back up the hill, right into a dark flume with surprising bursts of colourful rings.
Paying homage to the surfing culture of the nearby beach, the ride experience of this Master Blaster Fusion uses two Constrictors and a Rattler to evoke the feeling of catching a wave. The tight coils of the Constrictors remind of a “cutback” maneuver where a surfer takes a sharp turn back toward the breaking part of the wave, while the Rattler, with its oscillations inside a big hollow cylinder, simulates a barrel where surfers can ride through.
The thrills don’t stop between these slide features; this 343-meter-long ride is packed with back-to-back action. At a top speed of 42 km/h, riders will experience four sets of drop and uphill blast combinations, suspenseful twists and turns, five sections of mesmerizing AquaLucent rings, dots, and stripes, and sound effects to top it all off. Surreal is not just a record-breaker; it’s an exciting adventure riders will be telling their friends and family about over and over again.
“It is the biggest attraction ever created in the history of Beach Park,” said the water park’s CEO, Murilo Pascoal. “We are excited about this new feature, which will certainly attract both loyal visitors and those who are just getting to know us.”
Appreciating the great partnership, Tania Bayona, Vice President, Business Development at WhiteWater said, “We are deeply honoured to have worked with such an innovative client such as Beach Park, and to contribute to the success of this remarkable destination in South America.”
Pleasing Both Guests and Operators: Master Blaster
Built on over 20 years of technological advances, WhiteWater’s Master Blaster proves to be the most exciting and sustainable water coaster on the market.
Exhilarating Ride Experience
With scream-inducing mega drops, exhilarating yet steady gravity-defying uphill blasts, and large windows that allow great views for both riders and spectators, Master Blaster offers both a thrilling and a pleasant ride experience like no other water coaster.
Lower Power Consumption
Master Blasters are equipped with Smart Blast, a technology that uses variable frequency drives (VFDs) and a proprietary control algorithm to dynamically adjust pump speeds while the ride is in operation. By being able to ramp down the motor when not in use and ramping it back up when needed to drive riders uphill, Smart Blast saves operators not only money on electricity bills but also reduces wear and tear on the mechanical equipment.
Lower Water Consumption
Master Blaster’s powerful high-flow jets propel ride vehicles at a constant velocity, regardless of weight, without water vapor spraying everywhere. Also, high risers help to keep water inside the flume and prevent splash-outs, because excess water loss leads to a large water bill, corrodes surrounding infrastructure, and is downright unsustainable.
Ease of Maintenance
With ease of maintenance in mind, Master Blasters are designed with fewer moving parts and removable floor panels for quicker service access. As Master Blaster sections are built with RTM (resin transfer molding) fiberglass, they are shiny on both the inside and outside surfaces, making them easier to clean.
