Universal Rocks Transforms Aquascope Water Park with Immersive Decor

Universal Rocks Enhances Aquascope with Immersive Decor

Universal Rocks, a specialist in planning, building, and developing themed areas that replicate the beauty of nature, is celebrating the successful completion of a landmark project at Futuroscope’s newly opened water park, Aquascope. This highly anticipated park broadens the resort’s offerings, providing an immersive decor and engaging guest experience.

Universal Rocks played a pivotal role in three key areas of the new park, bringing the creative vision of Futuroscope’s design teams to life through advanced shotcrete techniques and exceptional craftsmanship.

Creating an Immersive Experience

For the park’s shower room, the company crafted wall and ceiling sculptures, designing the space as a cave adorned with intricately sculpted drops, which enhances the overall aesthetic and thematic experience.

In the family-friendly area, La Faille de Kraki, the team constructed artificial rocks and sculptures, including a musical cave and a giant statue of the mascot Kraki. This area features a delightful mix of whimsical rock formations and interactive elements.

Additionally, Universal Rocks created artificial rocks and rock walls for several key areas within the park’s innovative immersive space, Les Abysses de Lumière. This included La Crique, a large hall where visitors are transported into a magical cavern that combines digital effects and water features; L’Eauculus, a mysterious pool inviting guests to immerse themselves in an otherworldly underwater experience; Le Canyon, a serene passage through a misty, light-filled rocky crevice that provides a sense of tranquillity and wonder; and The Source, a crater-like formation with a cascading water curtain, revealing hidden surprises as visitors explore.

Proven Expertise

Pauline Ravry, Aquascope project manager, states: “Universal Rocks delivered exactly what we expected. It is a company I highly recommend…with proven expertise, possessing the human and technical resources necessary to execute a project of such scale.”

“Universal Rocks was able to turn our ambitions into reality with remarkable quality and precision, allowing us to deliver a project that met our expectations. Their technical mastery in integrating decorative and technological elements was a major asset for the success of the Aquascope.”

“The collaboration was very positive, particularly due to their responsiveness and expertise, which was crucial for meeting the delivery schedule. The Universal Rocks teams managed logistical and technical challenges with great skill, allowing us to achieve the expected level of quality. The performance was exceptional, especially with the complex challenges related to artificial rocks and technological integration in an aquatic environment.”

“We were impressed by Universal Rocks’ ability to mobilise the necessary resources to meet deadlines despite the challenges of coordinating with other companies.”

Olivier Héral, art director at Futuroscope, adds: “From the start, Universal Rocks understood what we wanted to achieve. It was very important to me that in our discussions, Universal Rocks grasped the specifics of the Aquascope, which they immediately understood.”

“We are delighted with the outcome of our work on the new water park at Futuroscope Resort,” says Fabio Maiuri, CEO of Universal Rocks. “The dedication and innovation of our team, combined with Futuroscope’s visionary designs, have resulted in a park that offers visitors to the complex a new and enhanced experience.”

“This project marks a significant milestone in our growth and solidifies our position as a creator of immersive decor environments.”
