Therme Group Plans 10 Wellness Resorts Across the US
Therme Group has unveiled its intention to establish 10 wellness resorts across the US over the next decade, following a partnership with the Georgetown Company.
The Georgetown Company, known for its development and ownership of commercial, retail, and mixed-use properties, will act as Therme’s exclusive development partner for all US projects.
Each of Therme Group’s US locations will span approximately 500,000 square feet and will be inspired by Therme’s existing facilities in Munich and Bucharest.
Therme US president and chief strategy officer Robert Hammond stated: “With Therme US, we’re not simply creating a destination; we’re redefining urban wellbeing. Just as Roman baths once served as essential centres for community connection, our thermae will provide dynamic spaces where people gather and thrive.”
He added, “I believe that, much like museums and libraries today, every great city will soon count a Therme as a vital urban amenity.”
Joint Venture with Georgetown Company
John Alschuler, CEO of Therme US, remarked: “Cities thrive when they invest in places that bring people together.”
Therme Group is also working on projects in Dubai, Manchester, Frankfurt, and Toronto. Currently, Therme US and Georgetown are collaborating on plans for two new US locations, with an investment of $1.5 billion.
Robert Hanea, CEO of Therme Group, noted: “The global demand for wellbeing infrastructure has never been greater.”
Therme’s US wellness resorts will feature thermal baths, saunas, mineral pools, lush greenery, waterslides, swim-up bars, and various dining options.
Adam Flatto, CEO of the Georgetown Company, commented: “Wellbeing is now established as a defining element of urban development. Therme’s visionary approach to embedding wellbeing into the urban fabric is not only forward-thinking but a necessary component for the future development of cities.”
Global Demand for Wellness Infrastructure
Earlier this month, Therme Group announced the new Islands in the Sky attraction for Dubai, which is being promoted as the world’s tallest wellness resort.
