Sub Sea Systems Unveils New Concept Design Division and Celebrates Partnerships
Sub Sea Creative, a newly established division of Sub Sea Systems, Inc. (SSS), is dedicated to providing conceptual design services that enhance underwater theming and create immersive water-related experiences. This initiative aims to educate through entertainment, offering memorable and engaging aquatic encounters.
Redefining Subsurface Experiences
Sub Sea Creative is committed to designing attractions that are not only entertaining but also educational. Their projects encompass a wide range of offerings, from intricate underwater theming to reimagined aquarium exhibits and custom lagoon environments, all featuring SSS’s innovative products, snorkel trails, and scuba experiences.
This division aligns with SSS’s mission to make the underwater world both entertaining and accessible. By redefining the typical guest experience, they aim to deliver premium attractions at water parks, immersive experiences at aquariums, and revenue-generating products at resort pools.
With extensive expertise in designing and constructing products for marine environments, SSS has recently developed rock theming for a multi-story aquarium extending into the Red Sea. This project includes three distinct SeaTREK experiences, featuring the award-winning Adapted SeaTREK wheelchair programme, an interactive snorkelling trail, and a premier scuba diving experience.
Current projects in design or construction include a signature lagoon attraction in Dubai, a hybrid aquarium in Saudi Arabia, and various initiatives across Mexico and the Caribbean.
The Power of Partnerships
The team at Sub Sea Creative is highly focused on collaborating with industry partners to reimagine water parks, design innovative concepts, and create new products and experiences.
For instance, SSS is partnering with Aquatic Development Group (ADG) to develop aquatic lifestyle concepts that cater to guests seeking unique, adventure-driven experiences. These compact, turnkey designs strategically integrate individual attractions into cohesive experiences, optimising both operational efficiency and construction costs.
Collaborative attractions include SeaTREK, Aquaticar, and VR Snorkeling, alongside ADG’s wave and surf attractions, such as Citywave USA in North America and the Caribbean, and EpicSurf internationally.
Other notable partnerships include:
- MI Concept: Leveraging MI Concept’s expertise in theming immersive environments to enhance water-centric attractions.
- RIXEN: Collaborating with the inventor of cable wakeboarding to develop a new attraction with a Sub Sea Creative twist.
- Hasbro Global Experiences: This partnership aims to create a unique NERF Super Soaker water park concept that reimagines play.
- SottoStudios: Working with the renowned experiential design studio founded by Eddie Sotto, former SVP of concept design at Disney’s Imagineering, to bring storytelling and innovation to the water theme park sector, particularly with the Aquaticar underwater adventure ride.
- PGAV: Collaborating for over 20 years on projects like SeaTREK and various aquarium and water theme park designs.
- Legacy Entertainment: Partnering to introduce unique aquarium and water-themed concepts that elevate guest experiences.
- DOF Robotics: Together, they are set to launch an interactive theme park-style ride system for aquariums.
By fostering collaborative relationships, SSS aims to support the growth of the sector. Recently, they unveiled Kaimana, a new underwater experience that combines interactive gameplay with exploration. Visitors don SeaTREK helmets while navigating various attractions in a playful underwater contest featuring high-velocity bubble blasters.
