Sub Sea Systems Launches Kaimana: A Gamified Underwater Experience
Sub Sea Systems, Inc. (SSS), a company renowned for creating immersive, memorable, and hands-on encounters that educate through entertainment, has unveiled Kaimana. This innovative underwater attraction combines interactive gameplay with the thrill of exploration. Guests will don SEA TREK helmets as they navigate various attractions, engaging in playful competition with high-velocity bubble blasters beneath the water’s surface.
The company has also integrated the DIVR+ virtual reality snorkelling experience, complete with sensory effects, into this new offering, providing side-by-side attractions that captivate and entertain.
A Fun and Flexible Underwater Attraction
Kaimana, which means “power of the sea” in Hawaiian, serves as an underwater attraction that features games, challenge courses, and experiences within a fully self-contained above-ground pool and theatre.
The venue boasts a cleverly designed floor plan with interchangeable themes and activity sets, allowing the arena’s layout to transform into different attractions such as Aqua Maze, where players navigate twists, turns, and dead ends to find the correct path to the finish line, and Airmageddon, a team-based target shooting competition.
These underwater games are ideal for families, encouraging competition and fostering repeat engagement.
Players can walk and breathe underwater using the self-contained Sea TREK backpack system, a reliable product that has facilitated over 3.5 million guest experiences worldwide. No swimming skills or prior experience are necessary to participate, and the minimum age requirement is 8.
To enhance the fun and engagement, each player is equipped with a blaster that shoots high-powered bubble rings, aiming at air-activated targets for team challenges. The system includes an LED screen displaying a shot counter and an NFC reset card, with custom colours available for team identification.
Kaimana is designed as a stand-alone, revenue-generating underwater attraction, making it perfect for venues looking to monetise a dedicated space outside of general admission. Its above-ground pool design ensures quick setup, guest visibility, and streamlined maintenance, making it a practical and visually appealing enhancement for any property.
Last year, Sub Sea Systems won two prestigious Brass Ring Awards at IAAPA Expo 2025. The company secured first place in the Water Park Ride/Attraction category for products costing less than US$2 million with its Adapted SeaTREK product, which also received the Impact Award. This award recognises one winner from the Best New Product categories that the judges believe can significantly influence the attractions sector.
The firm will be present at SEA Expo 2025 in Riyadh from 20 – 22 May, located at booth #4B490, where the team will showcase its range of products, including Aquaticar, SeaTREK, DIVR+, SolarCat, Kaimana, and DIVE BELL. Notably, the world’s first installation of Aquaticar will be in this region, at Qiddiya in Saudi Arabia.
