Six Flags to Operate Qiddiya’s Theme Parks in Saudi Arabia
Six Flags has been appointed as the official operator for Six Flags Qiddiya City and the Aquarabia water park, part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Qiddiya giga-project.
According to a recent press release, the Qiddiya Investment Company has entered into a management services agreement that allows Six Flags Entertainment Corporation to oversee the operations of these parks.
“This operational agreement represents an important step forward,” stated Selim Bassoul, executive chairman of Six Flags.
“We are committed to supporting Qiddiya’s vision by creating high-quality experiences that engage and inspire visitors of all ages,” he added.
Six Flags will leverage its management, operational, and strategic expertise to supervise both parks in Qiddiya City, which is set to become a hub for entertainment, sports, and culture.
When it opens in late 2025, Six Flags Qiddiya City will be a thrilling destination featuring 28 rides and attractions, including Falcons Flight – the tallest, fastest, and longest coaster in the world.
Adjacent to the park, Aquarabia will also open in late 2025, boasting 22 cutting-edge water rides and attractions, including the world’s tallest water coaster and Saudi Arabia’s first surf pool.
Immersive Experiences in Qiddiya City
“We are excited to collaborate with Six Flags as we take Qiddiya City to the next level,” remarked Abdullah Aldawood, managing director of Qiddiya Investment Company.
“Their expertise will help us create memorable experiences that resonate with residents and visitors while contributing to Saudi Arabia’s cultural and economic growth as part of Vision 2030.”
Qiddiya City is a vital component of Vision 2030, the kingdom’s multibillion-dollar initiative aimed at diversifying the economy and establishing itself as a global tourism leader.
Brian Machamer, president of Six Flags Qiddiya City and Aquarabia since 2019, will continue to oversee the operations of both venues.
In addition to Six Flags and Aquarabia, Qiddiya City will feature innovative attractions such as the world’s first Dragon Ball theme park, a gaming and esports district, and an immersive F1 circuit.
Other highlights include a stadium equipped with state-of-the-art holographic technology and a performing arts centre that enhances the theatre experience through VR, AR, and AI.
