Scenario Asia’s Role in Studio City’s Indoor Water Park Expansion

Exciting Developments at Studio City Indoor Water Park

Scenario, the award-winning design and fabrication firm, has unveiled details regarding its involvement in the eagerly awaited expansion of the Studio City indoor water park in Macau, China.

This $1.3 billion phase two expansion also encompasses two luxurious hotel towers – Epic Tower and W Macau. It follows the successful launch of the award-winning phase one outdoor water park, which opened its doors in 2021.

Scenario acted as a turnkey show contractor for the second phase of the indoor water park project. Their responsibilities included concept refinement, facility and show design and build, show set fabrication, rockwork design, fabrication and installation, BIM integration, show control, show lighting and AV, as well as ride system integration.

Space-Travel Theme

The space-travel-themed indoor Melco Water Park spans an impressive 24,000 square metres and features a variety of retail, rides, and food and beverage spaces. It boasts 16 attractions, including seven exhilarating water slides, two wave pools, and a unique Oblivion Pool that extends into the outdoor area.

Moreover, the climate-controlled environment includes an intense water roller coaster, a diving pool, and an indoor surfing simulator. Visitors can also experience the Starlight Rapids tube ride and Rockwall Fall, which combines rock climbing with platform diving for an unforgettable adventure.

A spokesperson from the World Waterpark Association’s 2023 Leading Edge Awards remarked: “The space travel themed attractions integrate seamlessly with the building interior, even cleverly extending outside the building envelope, matching the look and feel of the theme and architecture.”

Recently, Scenario participated in the IAAPA Expo Asia, held from 28 to 30 May 2024 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, Thailand. The firm hosted a gathering for partners and friends at the Novotel alongside Park Associates.

Last year, Scenario announced that Scenario Asia had entered into a strategic partnership agreement with Mint. This collaboration allows the companies to pursue megaprojects based in Saudi Arabia, aligning with the nation’s Vision 2030 plan, which aims to develop some of the world’s most innovative and spectacular IP entertainment venues.
