ProSlide Launches HIVE: The First Immersive Helix Water Ride
ProSlide Technology Inc., an industry leader in water ride manufacturing and design, has unveiled the HIVE water ride, the world’s first immersive helix water ride feature. This groundbreaking innovation is set to debut in 2025 at Zoombezi Bay in the US, Chimelong Water Park in China, and Radamis in Egypt.
The HIVE water ride aims to deliver a distinctive water ride experience that surpasses conventional expectations. ProSlide’s design draws inspiration from the Flying SAUCER and the exhilarating energy of a Formula 1 track, ensuring a fast-paced and adventurous experience with every ride.
There are two configurations available: the two-person tubing option (HIVE 20) and the five-person raft (HIVE 35). This innovative design offers panoramic views within a high-speed, high-g helix. The experience merges visual storytelling with pace, creating an engaging environment where guests can fully immerse themselves in the narrative.
HIVE 20 Debuts at Zoombezi Bay
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium operates Zoombezi Bay in Ohio, US, known for its thrilling attractions and adventurous spirit. As part of its Conservation Tower expansion, the renowned water park will introduce the first two HIVE 20 installations in the summer of 2025.
This new area will feature:
- The Hive. Guests can experience two HIVE 20s with panoramic views and 360-degree spirals for an exhilarating zero-g adventure.
- Mussel Mayhem. The TornadoWAVE 12 / TORNADO 18 SwitchBACK duo will make its debut in the American Midwest.
- Captina Falls. The world’s first matting RallyRACER featuring FlyingSAUCER 8s.
Anthony Sabo, VP of Zoombezi Bay, expresses excitement: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to bring Conservation Tower to life at Zoombezi Bay this summer—a unique adventure that combines heart-pounding fun with a purpose.
“Each waterslide in this pioneering complex narrates a story about the Columbus Zoo’s conservation efforts, starting with The Hive, the first waterslide globally to feature dual helixes through towering beehives. Only at Zoombezi Bay can you enjoy unique and cutting-edge attractions while supporting local and global conservation initiatives.”
World-First HIVE 35 at Chimelong Water Park
In spring 2025, the larger family model, the HIVE 35, will launch at Chimelong Water Park in China. The HIVE 35 will be incorporated into the Mega Tower, Asia’s tallest family water coaster complex, alongside groundbreaking attractions like the world-first Launched HydroMAGNETIC LIM Mammoth Water Coaster and the Double TORNADO 60, as well as the Asia debut of the Flying SAUCER 60.
Jeff Janovich, senior vice president of global strategic partnerships at ProSlide, states: “Our team has pushed boundaries to create this experience for Zoombezi Bay and Chimelong Water Park. The HIVE water ride embodies our commitment to clients and our passion for developing unparalleled attractions that shape the future of water parks.”
ProSlide’s HIVE water ride exemplifies the company’s commitment to innovative design, crafting unique attractions that captivate visitors worldwide. The company consistently delivers ambitious products, reflecting its ethos that ‘every ride tells a story, and every story is just the beginning.’
Earlier this month, ProSlide announced a new partnership with Chimelong Water Park, underscoring both organisations’ dedication to enhancing the guest experience at water parks and reinforcing Chimelong’s status as a premier water destination in China and globally.
