ProSlide Launches HIVE 20 Water Ride at Zoombezi Bay
ProSlide Technology Inc., an industry leader in water ride manufacturing and design, has launched the world’s first HIVE 20 water ride at Zoombezi Bay, Ohio. Situated at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, this attraction is among the most popular water parks in the Midwestern US.
The HIVE 20 water ride merges cutting-edge ride design with a mission-driven narrative, serving as the centrepiece for the park’s new Conservation Tower expansion, which opened to the public on 20 June.
Strengthening a 17-Year Partnership
The Conservation Tower has been developed through a 17-year collaboration between the two organisations and features three immersive attractions powered by ProSlide, all inspired by themes of conservation and environmental impact.
The highlight of this expansion is The Hive, which showcases the global first pair of HIVE 20 water ride features. Guests are taken on an unforgettable ride experience, propelled through high-speed, high-G helix turns while enjoying breathtaking panoramic views.

Key features of the Conservation Tower include:
- The Hive. Two HIVE 20 water ride features that take riders on a thrilling 360-degree journey through high-G spirals, mimicking the movement and energy of a beehive.
- Mussel Mayhem. Featuring a Midwest-first TornadoWAVE 12 / TORNADO 18 SwitchBACK combination, this ride pays tribute to freshwater mussel conservation.
- Captina Falls. The debut of the Matting RallyRACER with FlyingSAUCER 8, delivering excitement in a rapid, side-by-side mat racer format.
ProSlide has been a creative and technical partner to Zoombezi Bay since the water park’s inception in 2008, providing distinctive attractions such as the TORNADO 60, CannonBOWL, and ProRACER.
Conservation Tower marks a significant milestone in this 17-year partnership, seamlessly integrating acclaimed ride design with immersive environmental storytelling to create a unique, purpose-driven visitor experience.
Recently, ProSlide celebrated the opening of Tornado King at Water World Lloret de Mar, Spain. As the first Double TornadoWAVE 60 in Europe, this attraction represents a substantial investment in high-thrill, high-capacity water ride technology at the beloved water park, now in its 40th season.
