Okana Resort and Water Park in Oklahoma City Announces Opening Date

Exciting Launch of the Okana Resort in Oklahoma City

The Chickasaw Nation’s $400 million Okana Resort & Indoor Waterpark is set to open its doors in Oklahoma City on 1 April, with room bookings now available.

This impressive 11-storey establishment boasts 404 rooms and features a sprawling 100,000-square-foot indoor water park, complete with a wave pool, lazy river, cabanas, a children’s pool, and an adult pool. Guests can also enjoy 15 thrilling waterslides, including body slides, tube slides, and raft slides.

Opening in May, the 4.5-acre outdoor lagoon will offer additional attractions such as slides, an inflatable obstacle course, and a unique “fly pool” equipped with a zip line, allowing guests to soar over the water before landing in the pool.

Alongside the water park, Okana Resort will feature a family entertainment centre (FEC) filled with interactive games, 12 dining options, and an amphitheatre with an event lawn.

“I’m telling you, it’s really amazing,” said Okana’s managing director, Ken Leone, in an interview with the Oklahoma City Free Press. “We’re moving along. Everything is on schedule, and that’s the important thing.”

The water park will remain open year-round, as confirmed by Brian Szydloski, general manager of Okana’s water park operations. “It’s all temperature controlled, so the water and air will be maintained between 84 and 86 degrees all year round. It doesn’t matter if it’s 10 degrees outside, it’s always 84 to 86 degrees at Okana,” he explained.

Room Bookings Open for Okana

Okana Resort & Indoor Waterpark is conveniently located near the First Americans Museum, which opened in September 2021.

Okana Resort & Indoor Waterpark has been designed to complement the First Americans Museum’s focus on culture as well as to connect visitors to other entertainment experiences along this established and vibrant part of the Oklahoma River,” stated Chickasaw Nation governor Bill Anoatubby in a press release.

Aquatic Development Group (ADG), a leading water park and recreational design, construction, and manufacturing firm, is spearheading the Okana project.
