Guinness Record-breaking, World’s Longest Waterslide Unveiled in Malaysia

When it comes to **waterslides**, the usual scenario involves a strenuous climb up numerous steps, only to swiftly descend into the exit pool within seconds. However, a new **waterslide** in Malaysia promises a different experience.

Located approximately 30 minutes from George Town, ESCAPE offers a range of thrilling activities, including **waterslides**, ziplines, and obstacle courses.

Setting a New Record

This extraordinary **waterslide** spans an impressive 1,111 meters (3,645 feet), winding its way through the lush undergrowth of Penang’s ESCAPE theme park. It has surpassed the previous record for the world’s longest tube **waterslide** held by Action Park in New Jersey. Unlike its inflatable counterpart in New Jersey, ESCAPE’s **waterslide** is constructed from durable fiber-reinforced polymer, forming a permanent structure supported by steel poles.

Sim Choo Kheng, the CEO of ESCAPE operator Sim Leisure Group, expressed that their aim was not solely to break a world record but to provide riders with a longer and more enjoyable experience. The **waterslide** offers a leisurely four-minute journey down a 70-meter slope, offering picturesque views of the jungle surroundings. Visitors can access the **waterslide** via a cable car chairlift, eliminating the need for strenuous climbs.

Environmental Conservation

Sim Choo Kheng emphasised his commitment to environmental preservation by ensuring that no trees were felled during the construction of the **waterslide**. Construction activities are carried out manually, without the use of machinery, to protect the natural surroundings. Guests can conveniently reach the hilltop for the **waterslide** experience using the cable car.
