Maintenance Tips for Fiberglass Water Slides

In the realm of water park equipment, water slides are predominantly crafted from fiberglass, which must adhere to pertinent national standards.
The surface of a water slide should be impeccably smooth, devoid of cracks, and consistently coloured. The fiberglass utilised must satisfy at least three criteria: the resin should exhibit excellent water resistance and anti-ageing properties; the glass fibre should be composed of alkali-free glass fibre, with a surface that demonstrates good wettability; and the thickness should not be less than 6mm, with the flange thickness not less than 9mm.
Furthermore, the inner surface of the water slide must be free from small holes, wrinkles, bubbles, poor curing, poor impregnation, cracks, defects, and other issues. The back should not exhibit problems such as poor curing, poor impregnation, defects, and burrs, while the cutting surface should be devoid of stratification and burrs. Additionally, when observing the water park equipment from a distance of 600mm, repair marks, scars, uneven colours, cloth lines, unevenness, assembly, and other issues should not be visibly apparent.
Maintenance and Upkeep
1. Prior to daily operation, inspect the slide for any exposed sharp edges, sharp corners, burrs, water leakage, and other anomalies.
2. Ensure the water treatment equipment functions properly to maintain the supply of lubricating water for the slide and water for the slide’s landing pool.
3. Regularly check and secure the connecting parts.
4. Conduct routine inspections of the load-bearing components to identify any cracks or bending deformations in the structure, facilitating timely replacements.
5. During periods of non-use, cover the slide with plastic or coarse cloth to shield it from ageing, fading, and cracking due to ultraviolet radiation. Replace or repair any cracked chute sections promptly, and address any uneven interfaces, inverted bosses, or cracks in the chute without delay.
6. Inspect the paint layer on metal components for peeling and fading during non-use periods, and repair any peeling or dropping paint.
7. Organise regular safety inspections and maintenance. If water, sand, or scale is detected on the slide surface, clean and polish it promptly using cotton cloth or sandpaper.
