Kings Island Ohio RiverRacers Water Coaster 2025

Kings Island to Introduce Ohio’s First Dual-Racing Water Coaster

Kings Island is set to unveil Ohio’s inaugural dual-racing water coaster, named RiverRacers, at the Soak City water park in 2025.

Alongside RiverRacers, Soak City will also introduce seven new waterslides designed for children within the newly developed Salamander Sliders play area, which is part of the Splash River Junction zone.

“Whether you’re a novice waterslide rider or a seasoned thrill-seeker, Soak City provides the largest outdoor water park experience in Ohio,” stated Mike Koontz, vice president and general manager of Kings Island.

“Our park guests have long desired the excitement of a water coaster, and adding new experiences for families to enjoy together, especially in Soak City, is always a great idea.”

On RiverRacers, visitors will board side-by-side rafts at the starting line before plunging down the initial drop at speeds reaching 30 miles per hour. Riders will be propelled upwards by water jets and then enter enclosed tunnels featuring special lighting effects.

After navigating through a series of twists and turns, riders will experience a gravity-defying final drop, revealing who crosses the finish line first.

As for Salamander Sliders at Soak City, it will feature seven new waterslides, along with Bluegill Lagoon – a revamped traditional swimming hole complete with a water tower.

New Waterslides for Kids

Kings Island boasts over 100 rides, shows, and attractions, including 16 coasters, one of which is the world’s longest wooden coaster (The Beast). Banshee holds the title for the world’s longest inverted steel coaster.

The park is now under the ownership and operation of Six Flags Entertainment Corporation following Cedar Fair’s merger with Six Flags, which was completed last month.

The combined entity is valued at approximately $8 billion, including debt.

In other news, Kings Dominion in central Virginia is set to launch Rapterra, the world’s tallest and longest launched wing coaster, in 2025.
