Hurricane Harbor Arlington Unveils New Water Playground with 17 Slides
Six Flags’ Hurricane Harbor water park in Arlington, Texas, has unveiled a brand new water playground featuring 17 waterslides and over 100 interactive elements.
Splash Island marks the largest investment in the park’s history.
This expansive 58,000-square-foot area also boasts a revamped restaurant, improved dining options, and additional family cabanas.
“Splash Island was designed with our families in mind,” stated park manager Heather Blair.
“It provides tons of fun for kids and parents alike, and a place for everyone to relax in the nearby cabanas while they savour our new food and beverage offerings.”
“We can’t wait to be part of the cherished memories that guests of all ages will come to experience at Hurricane Harbor and Splash Island.”
Signature attractions in this aquatic playground include a multi-level treehouse-style play structure that reaches 50 feet in height, alongside 17 vibrant waterslides.
New Attractions at Splash Island
Moreover, the area features 110 interactive water elements, a massive splash pad, and a Texas-sized tipping bucket that holds 1,000 gallons of water.
This year also sees the introduction of the reimagined Smokehouse on the Water restaurant, offering a new menu that includes brisket, pulled pork, and sides like macaroni cheese and cornbread.
Hurricane Harbor in Arlington is the largest water park in North Texas, boasting over 40 rides and attractions.
It is part of Six Flags Over Texas, which offers more than 100 rides, shows, and attractions, including 14 world-class roller coasters.
In other news from Six Flags, the company plans to close Six Flags America and its Hurricane Harbor water park, both situated in Bowie, Maryland, following the 2025 operating season.
Additionally, California’s Great America in Santa Clara may close after the 2027 operating season, as confirmed by Six Flags officials.
