Office Origin Story

Chimelong was the turning point. Based in Vancouver, WhiteWater had been selling in Asia since 1986 and was the first foreign water park supplier in China. This high-profile project drew an incredible amount of interest, leading to an influx of new opportunities. By 2011, an office was opened in China to better serve clients in their language and time zone, marking the next exciting chapter in WhiteWater’s history.

Meeting Local Demands and Requirements

Initially covering sales and project management, the Shanghai location evolved to meet the specific demands of the Chinese market, becoming a full-service office. Roles like supply chain management, marketing, engineering, and after-sales support were added to cater to the growing needs of clients in China and beyond in the APAC region.

Phil, a native of Shanghai and WhiteWater’s Asia COO, has been instrumental in spearheading transformative projects in the region, setting industry benchmarks and receiving accolades.

Dawn Tong, Senior Vice President, Business Development, brings a wealth of experience in advising developers in Greater China. Lavender Zhang, Vice President, Business Development, bridges the gap between developer needs and supplier capabilities. Megan Mo, the Marketing Manager, tailors content to resonate with diverse audiences in the region.

Serving South East Asian needs are Gavin Smith and Brian Walker Smith, offering expertise in design, construction, and project management. Frank Tang manages the regional supply chain, reducing delivery time and costs for clients. Zhi Liu ensures structural safety compliance, and Will Wang oversees project details from start to finish. Laguna Xu, the Performance Services Manager, ensures client satisfaction and support throughout the lifespan of products.
