Disney World Reopens Both Water Parks for First Time Since 2019

Exciting News: Disney World Water Parks Reopening

Walt Disney World is gearing up to welcome guests back to both of its Disney World water parks, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach, for the first time since 2019.

Typhoon Lagoon will be open from 21 May through 7 September, allowing visitors to enjoy all six of its parks during this period, including Typhoon Lagoon, Blizzard Beach, Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Blizzard Beach, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary on 1 April, is currently open but will temporarily close from 1 May until 20 May.

Since 2019, Disney World has been alternating the opening of each water park, with only one available for guests at a time.

Opened in 1989, Typhoon Lagoon is designed to evoke a tropical paradise, featuring elements such as ships, fishing tackle, and surfboards.

Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon Open for Summer

Attractions at Typhoon Lagoon include thrilling waterslides like Crush ‘n’ Gusher, Bay Slides, and Storm Slides. It also boasts a lazy river named Castaway Creek, along with family-friendly water rides and the largest wave pool in North America.

Blizzard Beach, which first opened in 1995, offers attractions such as Summit Plummet, one of the tallest and fastest freefall body slides, and Teamboat Springs, which is known as one of the world’s longest group whitewater raft adventures.

Additionally, Blizzard Beach features new Frozen-themed attractions, including Anna and Elsa’s igloo, along with statuettes of Olaf and his Snowgie friends.

In other Disney news, the company is investing a staggering $60 billion in its parks, experiences, and products division.

These projects include a significant expansion of Disney Cruise Line and new themed lands at Walt Disney World in Florida.

Highlights of the expansion range from a Monsters, Inc. land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios to a land themed around Disney’s villains at Magic Kingdom.
