Essential Guidelines for Water Park Design and Facilities

When planning a water park design, it is crucial that the facilities and layout of the artificial swimming area adhere to specific standards. These include:

1. The swimming area must feature a pool, emergency room, changing room, shower room, public toilet, and a control room for water quality circulation, purification, and disinfection equipment. These should be logically arranged in the sequence of changing room, mandatory shower room, foot dip pool, and swimming pool, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.

2. A first-aid room should be established in line with GB19079 standards, equipped with oxygen bags, ambulance beds, and first-aid supplies. The equipment must be easily accessible.

3. Dressing room floors should be made from non-slip, waterproof, and easy-to-clean materials, with appropriate drainage facilities. Walls and ceilings should be coated with waterproof, mildew-proof, and non-toxic materials. Lockers should be smooth, waterproof, and designed for individual use, with facilities for hand washing and disinfection.

4. A mandatory shower should be installed between the shower room and the foot dip sterilisation pond, with a shower head for every 20 to 30 people. The shower room should have non-slip, waterproof flooring and proper drainage.

5. A dedicated disinfection room for drinking utensils should be provided.

6. Pools should have clear depth indicators and warning signs for deep and shallow areas, with smooth, waterproof walls and floors. Non-slip materials should be used around the pool, with adequate drainage facilities.

7. A foot disinfection pool should be placed between the shower room and the swimming pool, measuring at least 2 metres in length.

8. Indoor pools must have entrances and evacuation routes that comply with national standards, along with mechanical ventilation.

9. Pools should be equipped with compliant water treatment and disinfection facilities, with safety measures for liquid chlorine use. The treatment room should have an emergency alarm and be separate from the pool area.

10. Water quality testing equipment, including residual chlorine and pH value meters, should be available.
