Dalang Foundation Scholarship Ceremony 2024
The Dalang Charity Foundation proudly held its ‘2024 Scholarship Award Ceremony’ on 16th August 2024, commencing at 9:00 am at the Dalang Group’s R&D and manufacturing base. This significant event was attended by leaders of the Foundation and representatives from the Group’s employees, celebrating the achievements of outstanding students.
The ceremony was hosted by Mr Zhao Shiyang, Chairman of the Dalang Charity Foundation. He extended a warm welcome to all attendees at this sixth scholarship award ceremony organised by the Foundation. Mr Zhao encouraged the students to remain dedicated to their studies, work diligently, and uphold their beliefs. He highlighted that this scholarship not only demonstrates the Foundation’s commitment to the education of employees’ children but also serves to inspire a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and self-improvement. He expressed hope that both new and existing employees would continue to enhance their skills through various educational platforms, and he looked forward to ongoing support for the Foundation, believing that more exceptional students would grace the podium in the future.
Words of Encouragement from Dalang Group
Mr Ho Chi Hung, Chairman of Dalang Group, conveyed his congratulations to the students on behalf of the Board of Directors. He expressed pride in the students, noting that they are a source of joy for their parents. Mr Ho also shared his personal pride as his daughter, who has earned a double master’s degree from Columbia University and the University of Chicago, is among the scholarship recipients. He shared three aspirations for the students: to be healthy and happy individuals who appreciate their blessings; to embody ideals of morality, culture, and discipline; and to strive relentlessly towards their life goals. He concluded with wishes for a bright future for all students.
Encouragement from Industry Leaders
Next, He Yuansheng, General Manager of Guangdong Dalang Waterpark Equipment Co., took the stage. He expressed his heartfelt congratulations to the outstanding staff, students, and their parents, stating, “Today is a day full of hope and joy.” Mr He urged students to diligently pursue scientific and cultural knowledge, enhancing their skills and qualities. He also encouraged Group staff to wholeheartedly support their children’s education, emphasising that knowledge can transform destinies and lead to significant contributions to society.
Mr Li Yixin, Advisor of the Dalang Charity Foundation and Director and Vice President of Administration at Guangdong Dalang Waterpark Equipment Company Limited, shared his gratitude for the Foundation as a vital platform. He noted that the Foundation’s awards have consistently inspired his son’s growth, who graduated this year with a Master’s Degree from the National University of Singapore and is a recipient of the second scholarship from the Dalang Charity Foundation. He encouraged students to remain proactive in their studies, avoid arrogance, and strive for excellence, highlighting the crucial role of parental guidance in education.
Expressions of Gratitude
In her speech of thanks, award-winning staff representative Ho Hung Yin expressed deep appreciation for the encouragement provided by the Dalang Charity Foundation. She emphasised the importance of continuous learning and the pursuit of excellence, wishing for the Foundation’s continued success.
Mr Zhao Shiyang then announced the award winners and invited representatives of the staff’s family members and the outstanding students to the stage to receive their awards. The awardees included Yini He (Double Master Degree), Yuan Li (Master Degree), Hongyan He (Bachelor Degree), and several others from various educational levels.
As the ceremony concluded, the host announced the successful end of the scholarship award ceremony. There was a collective hope for every employee to advance and for each student to fulfil their potential and achieve excellence. The gathering concluded with prayers for the flourishing of the Dalang Charity Foundation, the prosperity of Dalang Group, and the happiness of all involved.
