CSI Europe 2024 Unveils CPD-Certified Content Programme for Cruise Ship Interiors
Cruise Ship Interiors (CSI), the leading exhibition and conference entirely focused on the cruise ship sector, has unveiled the content programme for the CSI Design Expo Europe, scheduled for 4 to 5 December at London Excel.
The event’s CPD-certified sessions, in partnership with NEWH, will feature tracks dedicated to interiors and hospitality, aimed at revitalising the creativity of attendees and making ambitious ideas more achievable. Highlights will include sessions such as Charting Sustainable Ship Materials with NEcOLEAP and Meyer Turku and New Experiences in River Cruise & the Delivery of Luxury.
Sustainability, Supply Chains & Competitive Socialising
Key trends affecting both the landside and European cruise industries will be explored by designers, architects, and buyers from various cruise lines, shipyards, and design studios, including Meyer Turku, Virgin Voyages, Seabourn Cruise Line, P&O Cruises, Cunard, Marella Cruises, Mystic Cruises, SMC Design, and Studio DADO.
Additionally, the Sustainable Design Summit will hold its final Working Group of 2024 on-site, sponsored by Morbern Europe.
Greg Walton from Studio DADO, a pioneer in Cruise Ship Interiors design, will be retiring at the end of the year. Delegates will have the chance to hear Walton discuss the evolution of cruise ship interiors and engage in an open dialogue about future directions.
In Transforming Key Spaces: Innovative Approaches to Refurbishment, SMC Design will share insights into its role as project lead for AROYA Cruises’ refurbishment, which is set to be completed in December.
The popular Meet The Brand sessions will return, featuring insights from Royal Caribbean, which will discuss its latest innovations and how the supply chain can strengthen its relationship with the brand. In Charting Ship Materials, Meyer Turku will disclose exclusive information about its NEcOLEAP project and its vision for a sustainable stateroom.
The hospitality track will highlight the latest advancements in visitor experience, covering technologies that have transformed Cruise Ship Interiors and the trends reshaping guest expectations. In Bright Ideas! Inspire with Theatrical Lighting and LEDs and People Flow and Activating Spaces, MSC, SMC Design, CONDUCTR, and blooloop will delve into the competitive socialising trend and contemplate the future of entertainment on cruise ships.
On 5 December, the Cruise Ship Interiors Awards will honour five years of excellence in cruise ship interior design, recognising everything from remarkable small ships to eco-friendly innovations. This year’s awards will introduce new categories such as Galley Innovation of the Year, Best Refurbished Space, and Best Onboard Experience.
Registration for the event commenced in August. CSI stated: “This year, the two-day event promises to connect everyone across the cruise ship interiors supply chain with the people they most want to work with.”
