Aqualantis Waterpark: A Family-Friendly Resort Experience

Aqualantis Waterpark: A New Era in Resort Water Parks

With 47% of travellers opting for multigenerational family trips, resorts catering to guests of all ages are not just remaining relevant; they are gaining a competitive edge. Acknowledging this trend, WhiteWater collaborated with Regnum Carya Golf & Spa Resort to develop a new 20,000-square-metre water park aimed at enhancing the family vacation experience and solidifying the resort’s premium status. The park, named Aqualantis Waterpark, features a carefully curated selection of attractions designed for every age group, reinforcing Regnum Carya’s reputation for excellence and creating a destination where families return year after year.

Shared Ride Experiences for the Whole Family

One of the standout features of Regnum Carya’s new water park is the family slide tower, designed to foster togetherness. With ride vehicles accommodating up to three people, the Boomerango and Tailspin + Rattler Fusion slides encourage families and friends to create lasting memories with every splash and scream.

The Boomerango slide is tailored for thrill-seekers, launching riders from the tower into a steep drop before they ascend a near-vertical wall, experiencing a moment of weightlessness before plunging back down. This exhilarating sensation is just as thrilling to watch as it is to ride, making it a favourite among families cheering from the sidelines. For those seeking a less intense experience, the Tailspin + Rattler fusion offers a winding journey filled with fun. The ride begins with the Tailspin, a spiralling flume that accelerates as it descends, creating a playful whirl of motion. Upon exiting the Tailspin, riders seamlessly transition into the Rattler, which features a series of oscillating turns that swing the raft side to side. Together, these rides provide a balanced mix that caters to various comfort levels while emphasising Regnum Carya’s commitment to quality, inclusivity, and connection.

To align with their reputation for excellence in hospitality, the resort aimed to enhance the water slides with unexpected elements that surprise and delight guests. They incorporated AquaLucent technology, a unique lighting effect that infuses sunlight into the water slide, creating vibrant bursts of colour as guests glide through the tubes, transforming each ride into a bright adventure. What truly distinguishes this tower is the focus on the entire guest journey, not just the slides. Unlike many water parks, where guests must carry heavy inflatable rafts up the stairs, Regnum Carya has installed a conveyor lift system, a rare feature in resort water parks. This thoughtful addition allows guests to place their rafts on the conveyor and walk alongside it to the top of the tower, conserving energy and ensuring a more relaxed experience between rides.

Multi-Generation Attractions Designed to Keep Guests Happy Year After Year

Beyond the thrill factor, Aqualantis Waterpark was meticulously designed to promote multigenerational engagement. By offering miniature versions of the signature slides alongside their full-sized counterparts, the park introduces a ride progression system. Young children can begin with scaled-down versions of the water slides that are gentle yet exciting. These attractions mirror the design and layout of the larger slides, sparking curiosity and providing younger guests with something to aspire to. As children grow and gain confidence, they can transition from the smaller rides to those their older siblings enjoy, turning their water park experience into a personal journey that evolves throughout their stay. This approach not only enhances the immediate guest experience but also fosters long-term family loyalty. Parents can witness their children developing new skills and confidence with each visit, while children form strong, positive associations with the resort as part of their childhood memories. It’s a model that transforms the water park into a venue for creating vacation traditions, where every day brings something new to anticipate, leading to more positive reviews for the resort.

Body & Inner Tube Tower

While one tower at Aqualantis Waterpark focuses on shared experiences, the second is dedicated to speed, competition, and high intensity. This tower is intentionally designed to tap into guests’ natural sense of challenge, featuring a lineup of slides that offer both exhilarating solo experiences and head-to-head racing action.

At the heart of this tower is a multi-lane Whizzard, providing a side-by-side experience that transforms a simple water slide into a friendly competition. Riders lie on their stomachs and launch themselves headfirst down parallel lanes, gaining speed as they twist through enclosed sections before emerging into a straight drop to the finish. Each slide becomes a game, with guests eager to outpace family members, friends, or even their own best times. The mat racer format effectively encourages repeat rides, as it naturally motivates guests to try different lanes, race new challengers, or refine their technique.

Also featured in this tower is one of the park’s most intense offerings, the Freefall. With its steep, near-vertical descent, this slide creates a genuine moment of free fall as riders drop straight down in what feels like an instant. The anticipation builds as riders ascend to the top of the tower and peer over the edge—part of the thrill lies in that first step. Once launched, the drop delivers a rush of wind, speed, and splash in mere seconds, providing guests with a sharp thrill that often becomes a highlight of their day. Together, these slides create a fast-paced, visually engaging tower designed for repeat use, contrasting with the more family-oriented tower and forming a key part of Regnum Carya’s strategy to offer a layered water park experience that excites guests of all ages.

Kid’s Play Area

As visitors approach the multi-level play structure, they are immediately captivated by the theming. In addition to flat panels adorned with tropical fruit and flowers, WhiteWater’s in-house artisans have crafted lifelike birds and 2D reliefs, adding vibrant colours and character to the play area. With numerous paths and features to explore, guests feel as though there are no queue lines in sight. An abundance of water guns, jets, wheels, ropes, and cones invites refreshing, interactive discoveries. Ground-level features and vertical toy elements engage multigenerational families and guests of varying mobilities. The biggest screams and squeals, however, come from the enormous splashes of the pineapple-themed tipping bucket, which holds 1,800 litres, creating a splash zone that enhances the overall size of the play area.

Wave Pool & Lazy River

At the centre of the new water park at Regnum Carya lies the wave pool. Designed as a high-capacity, passive entertainment zone, the wave pool can comfortably accommodate over 750 guests at any one time. This makes it a vital component of the park’s crowd management strategy, providing an enjoyable alternative to more intense slides while helping to balance guest distribution throughout the day. Beyond its operational advantages, the wave pool also serves as an important meeting point, acting as a central “home base” for families needing a convenient location to reconnect and rest between attractions.

Encircling parts of the water park, the lazy river offers guests a calm, scenic way to unwind. Whether floating alone or in a group, visitors can gently drift along its route, enjoying the resort’s lush landscaping. For families with varying thrill thresholds, the lazy river provides a much-needed transitional experience, allowing younger or less adventurous guests to participate. It also aids operational flow by encouraging guests to slow down and spread out across the park, making it easier to manage peak-time crowding.

Together, the wave pool and lazy river create a versatile, guest-friendly environment that allows everyone—from toddlers to grandparents—to find their rhythm. These attractions are not only crowd-pleasers but also key pillars in the park’s family-first design approach, helping Regnum Carya redefine what a luxury resort water park experience should entail.
